How far in advance should you book your Wedding Photographer? |Wedding Photography tips
When you get engaged there are a lot of things to consider when it comes to your Wedding planning. The first thing on your mind is most likely choosing your wedding date and your wedding venue. I would say that these are definitely the most important factors because you can’t have a wedding without a time and a place. That’s a given! Once you have secured your venue and Wedding date, your photographer and wedding planner (if you decide to have one, which I highly recommend) should be your next priorities.
of these months it’s especially important that you book your Photographer as soon as possible. Even if you’re not getting married in the most popular wedding months, it’s still important to book your photographer at minimum a year in advance. Like I mentioned previously, clients book their wedding photographers between 1 and 11/2years in advance so our weekends tend to fill up pretty quickly. So if you have a Photographer in mind that you’d like to photograph your wedding but you haven’t officially booked them, I would do that ASAP.
From a photographer stand point; clients typically book with me 12 to 18 months before their wedding date. You’re probably saying whoa! That’s super early! But really it’s not. When I got married in Virginia, I booked my Photographer as soon as I booked my Wedding Venue. I got married in June, which is a really popular month for Weddings so I knew I needed to book the Photographer I wanted as soon as possible. There’s nothing worse than having your heart set on an amazing photographer that you want to document your wedding but they’re already booked on your Wedding date because someone else booked them before you could. I hope this helps with your planning process!
