A Sex and the City, New York City Hall Inspired Elopement
I photographed my first elopement last year and ever since then I’ve been obsessed. I love elopements! The sense of intimacy is so beautiful. It’s so personal, private and full of love. There are so many benefits to eloping. It’s such a different feel. So far I haven’t photographed a New York City Hall elopement. So I created a “Sex in the City” inspired Elopement instead. If you’ve seen the Sex and the City movie when Carrie and Big got married, you might remember when she decided to wear a white suit to City hall and elope.
If you’ve seen the Sex and the City movie when Carrie and Big got married, you might remember when she decided to wear a white suit to City hall and elope. You know, before she “let the wedding get bigger than Big.” Well I loved the white suit and I’m so glad that in the end she wore it. I thought it was so chic. So when I decided to do this City Hall Elopement shoot I knew one thing, I wanted a white suit. And when I found this beautiful Ivory tux sheath dress from Rent the Runway, I knew I had to have it. And with that, my vision came to life.
I’m so grateful to my friends Dave and Ash for braving the cold with me. It was an unusually cold and windy day on an unusually warm weekend and the wind was not our friend. So I’m so grateful that they froze outside for me long enough to see my vision come to life. Enjoy the photos!
